Our Mission
Goldenrod Hills Community Action Family Services' mission is to enhance the customers ability to become independent and self-reliant. Assistance is provided through utilization of referrals and resources, within our agency and out side our agency. These resources help individuals and families to combat the elements of poverty that are challenging them. Goldenrod Hills accomplishes these goals by building trust and confidence and by working toward improving the customer's quality of life.
Trained Family Service Coordinators and a Family Development Case Manager works with individuals and families on a one to one basis. Through family assessments and client self-assessments, the needs of the household are identified. Between the family and the worker long-range and short-range goals are set.
Family Service Coordinators and the Case Manager will continue to work with the customer on goals established through the case management process. Utilizing area agencies and programs to make these goals possible is one of the services provided by the Family Service Coordinators and the Case Manager.
Family Service Coordinators also work outside of their office. They determine eligibility of customers at CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program), and Immunization clinics. Family Services Coordinators are involved in a variety of programs and projects throughout the year. Family Services staff are trained individuals whose job is to assist the individuals and/or families in need. All information gathered on customers is confidential. Family Services follow the federal poverty guidelines. Family Services are located in Wisner, Norfolk, Creighton, Wayne and South Sioux City.
