Immunization Program
The Immunization Program conducts 17 Immunization clinics each month in 12 of our 14 county service area. The clinics are open to the public and there are no income guidelines. A Registered Nurse administers the vaccinations and a physician is on-call during clinic hours. Appointment and donation information can be obtained by calling the Wisner Office at (402) 529-3513. No One is denied immunizations for inability to pay. For updated clinic information, please refer to the Agency events calendar.

The Immunization Program has also expanded its Adult Vaccine Program. These vaccinations are offered for a fee. Appointments and fee schedules can be obtained by calling the Wisner Office.

Operation Great Start
A comprehensive program designed to give babies a great start in life.
Before Your Baby is Born
Operation Great Start can...
• Provide a consistent and reliable source to you, the expectant parent(s).
• Help the you prepare for the arrival of your baby.
• Share information about good nutrition for the expectant mother.
• Offer information and education about lifestyle changes important for a healthy pregnancy and newborn baby.
• Refer the you to staff who can answer questions about labor and delivery.
• Provide community resource information to you.
After Your Baby is Born
Operation Great Start can...
• Provide a consistent and reliable source to you, as a new parent.
• Help you adjust to lifestyle changes that come with the arrival of your new baby.
• Give support and educational material on the topics you are interested and in need of.
• Help you understand your child’s developmental milestones.
• Provide information about baby care.
• Provide community resource information to you.
Who Qualifies?
• All pregnant and postpartum mothers who plan to deliver or have delivered their baby at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk or St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point and reside in either Burt, Cuming, Madison or Stanton county.
• Prenatal mothers can enroll anytime during their pregnancy, and the earlier in the pregnancy, the better.
• Babies can be enrolled up until they are one month old.
What is the cost?
There are no fees for the patient to enroll and participate in the program.
The program is funded by Nebraska Health and Human Services Office of Family Health Title V/Maternal Child Health Program and the participating program partners.

Nebraska Maternal Child Health and Operation Great Start Goals include:
• Reduce rates of premature and low birth weights for all women, with attention to adolescent pregnancy.
• Reduce the rates of hospitalizations and death due to unintentional injuries for child and youth.
• Reduce the number and rates of child abuse, neglect and intentional injuries of children.
• Reduce the rate of infant mortality, especially racial/ethnic disparities.
This program is supported be federal Title V/Maternal and Child Health Block Grant Funds awarded to Goldenrod Hills Community Action by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure.

Early Intervention Services Coordination
Early Intervention Services Coordination covers Region 29, defined as, the City of Norfolk and the Norfolk Public School System. Service Coordinators help families with infants or toddlers below the age of three years who have a disability and who qualify for special education through the public schools. Early Intervention is supported through the collaborative efforts of the Nebraska Department of Education and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services as "co-lead" agencies and through the participation of the Nebraska Department of Health and Public Institution and the Nebraska Inter-Agency Coordination Council.

Operation Building Blocks
Operation Building Blocks is a home
visitation program for families with children in Burt, Cedar, Cuming,
Dixon, Madison, Stanton, Thurston and Wayne and counties. The goals of this program are: improvement of parenting skills, awareness of the importance
of social-emotional and cognitive development, and the benefits of good
physical and mental health.
